Description If you're a data-driven strategist who gets energized by building new and impactful customer-facing experiences, you might be the perfect fit!You'll join the team behind a new consumer-facing small commercial quoting and binding experience already driving meaningful growth at Liberty Mutual. This is early-stage, high-upside work, and as a Product Owner, you'll own a value-add backlog across two scrum teams, partnering cross-functionally to develop journey maps, define objectives and key results (OKRs) and gather feedback to inform what you build next.This is a highly visible role with a direct line to growing our small commercial book of business. You'll balance qualitative insights and quantitative data to guide decisions, shape product vision, drive incremental delivery, and create portfolio runway through strong cross-functional partnership.If you're curious, tenacious and excited by the chance to shape a new digital sales experience from its earliest chapters, this is a role you'll want to explore.Key responsibilitiesDefine and communicate product vision and strategy aligned with portfolio and organizational priorities.Own and prioritize the product backlog; write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria that enable engineering to deliver business value.Lead stakeholder engagement across business, technology, and executive leadership to set expectations for timelines, capabilities, and trade-offs.Translate customer problems and business objectives into actionable work, focusing both squads on the highest-value outcomes.Ideal candidate will have:Background in small commercial insurance, an important foundation as the experience is scaled.Strong strategy and visioning: You dream big and act boldly, listening to customers, incorporating business objectives and articulating a clear strategy for where a new platform goes next.An experimental mindset: You're comfortable making calls on incomplete information, and you'd rather learn fast from a small test than debate your way to certainty.Curiosity and tenacity: You deeply understand opportunities and rally cross-functional teams to execute.Analytical foundation: Data informs and supports your work, and you recognize that a data-driven mindset is imperative to identifying and solving problems at scale.Comfort in ambiguity: You are a self-starter and a leader, impacting outcomes through collaboration.Stakeholder management: You are a strong storyteller with the ability to influence both executive and technical audiences.Reside in the Eastern Standard Time zone. This position requires two in-office days per week for candidates who reside within 50 miles of Columbus, OH; Seattle, WA; Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Indianapolis, IN; or Plano, TX. Qualifications Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelors’ degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.), 7 years in business, technology, or consulting with 5 to 7 years direct experience with agile teamsMaster's degree preferredHigh level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impactsDevelops strong stakeholder relationships and influencing across multiple organizational boundariesDemonstrated experience leading varied audiences through the development of complex ideas, issues and designsAbility to lead varied audiences through census buildingProven experience with Agile practices and expectationsComfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertaintyStrong communication skills, both written and verbalKnowledge of insurance industry preferredKnowledge of relevant products and portfolio strongly preferredStrong experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty and exploit market opportunities About Us Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
