A CMS or Content Management System is essential for web publishing. A CMS allows web designers, copyrighters and site administrators to modify text, images and coding with ease and with minimum disruption to the the site. User permissions and changelogging means that those who make changes are accountable for those changes.

The most common CMS of course is WordPress, an open-source CMS written in PHP and usually paired with MySQL. Contentful is another powerful CMS platform.
